The original Pizza Heroes at work on our first event

The intention of Lion’s Ink was always to provide safe spaces for young people in North Minneapolis. We originally thought that would be our house in the neighborhood. Things shifted when Lion’s Ink co-founder, Chris Nielsen, died unexpectedly in a mountain biking accident and not long after, Covid changed the way we could gather and build relationships. Lion’s Fire is one of the very positive shifts that has grown our ability to care for and impact young women in our community.

Lion’s Fire is a mobile wood fire pizza social venture with a purpose to train, employ and journey with female student athletes in North Minneapolis. It is one of the primary ways Lion’s Ink is building relationships and sharing resources with young people. Like all good stories ours features some strong and lovable heroes. Our pizza heroes are female student athletes from Minneapolis North Community High School who are working hard every day to manage school, extra-curricular events, work, and the complexities of life every teenager faces. They are the heart of the Lion’s Fire story and the reason we exist.

Summer 2023 marks the fourth season of Lion’s Fire, and we are continuing to grow! Our goal for this year is to increase our number of corporate lunch events for local businesses. We are deeply grateful for Grace-Trinity Community Church, who has welcomed us into their space. Their commercial kitchen has become our home base and revolutionized the way we do things.

If you are looking for a unique way to host a gathering for your employees or community of friends, please consider Lion's Fire. Event prices begin with a minimum of 80 people. For more information on pricing and event scheduling, please visit us at lionsfirempls.com.
